Service Description: Settlement service for Francophone immigrants and newcomers to Ottawa. Workers help the new arrivals and Francophone immigrants with the initial stages of settlement.

Settlement Program (formerly Immigrant Settlement and Adaptation Program) -- orientation programs, language and skills training to help facilitate employment, and programs to welcome newcomers to the community * may provide needs and eligibility assessments, pre- and post-arrival information and referral, job search and employment counselling, assistance to establish social and professional networks to promote community engagement, and assistance to access a range of settlement services
  • Information and Referral services: Housing * education * transportation * social services * health services * Canadian rights and obligations * financial services * cultural services * artistic resources * sport and recreational activities * family support * and more.
  • Interpretation and Translation services: Helps clients in the interpretation and understanding of information transmitted to them, requests made ??to them, the documents they receive, and so on. It is also possible for clients to obtain services in their native languages.
  • Couselling services: Offers counselling services to those who are facing challenges in regards to their settlement.

Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Francophone newcomers, immigrants, refugees * Job seekers from the previous categories as well as: Asylum seekers, Working Holiday Visa holders (WHV), and Canadian citizens.
