Position:  Assistant, BMT Coordination

Region:  Ottawa

Reporting to the BMT Program Manager, the assistant, BMT coordination is responsible for daily operations related to BMT data collection, quality and submission for the program. This role will collaborate with nurses, physicians and allied health professionals to ensure timely distribution of relevant information to internal departments and external entities including but not limited to Cancer Care Ontario, national and international stem cell transplant data reporting registries.

Rotation/Shifts
Days, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

  • Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12);
  • Minimum of two years of previous work experience in a progressively responsible administrative position or Community College diploma in Secretarial program in place of experience;
  • Excellent computer skills – Microsoft office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook;
  • Good Knowledge of Oracle;
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize work tasks;
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently;
  • Demonstrate the abiltiy to exercise sound decision-making;
  • Demonstrate excellent organization and time management skills;
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills;
  • High degree of confidentiality is essential;

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a hospital setting with exposure to medical terminology and health information systems;
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).



Salary:  $23.116 - $27.232 / hour

Terms of Employment:  Temporary until October 31, 2019 approx
