Bone Disease - Champlain

Osteoporosis is a disease that leads to increased bone fragility. This raises the risk of fractured bones, particularly in the hip, spine, and wrist.

Osteoporosis screening programs and treatment are provided by the hospitals listed below. Diagnostic Imaging Clinics will also perform tests such as x-Rays and bone mineral densitometry (BMD). Other services provide information and management programs that offer exercise and diet strategies.

The Ontario Osteoporosis Strategy is an integrated and comprehensive approach aimed at health promotion and disease management.
