Influenza (Flu) - Champlain

Influenza or flu, as it is commonly called, is a respiratory illness caused by a virus. It can cause severe illness in many people. Public Health Units provide information about the virus and immunization against it. During flu shot season, some Health Units hold free community immunization clinics. Contact your Health Unit for your area (below) then click on the schedule link. Flu shots are also available at permanent clinics or through your family doctor.

Hospital emergency departments are busy over the holidays.

Plan-Ahead Tips for the Holidays
  • Fill your prescriptions, if needed
  • Know the phone number and address of your nearest Walk-in Clinic
  • Know your family doctor's office hours
