Young Men's Emergency and Transitional Housing Program

Service Description: Young Men’s Shelter:
  • Program that offers young men immediate access to safe housing
  • open 365 days a year
  • 24 hour support
  • 30 beds for emergency shelter and transitional housing
  • young men who lack family support are connected with youth workers who will help explore alternate housing options
  • referrals to internal and external housing, mental health, addictions, employment, financial, and health services offered

Transitional Housing:
  • offered for stays of up to one year
  • units give youth the opportunity to live semi-independently while developing life skills and autonomy

Fees: Fees for transitional program * None for shelter
Application: Call 3-1-1 or the shelter directly for emergency housing or questions regarding the Transitional Housing Program * youth may also attend the Youth Services Bureau's Downtown Drop-In to discuss their housing needs
Eligibility / Target Population: Shelter: homeless youth 16-20 years old who identify as male * Transitional Housing Program: youth 16-20 years old who identify as male * youth accessing shelter services, and who fall within the age of protection as set out by the Child and Family Services Act (0-17 years), will be connected to child protection services
