Service Description:
|
Francophone association for parents of dyslexic children and other learning disabilities
Provides information to parents and professionals about learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysorthographia, dyspraxia, dysphrasia, attention-deficit disorder (ADD)/attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)) * teaches and supports parents and francophone educators * encourages early detection of learning disabilities in order to assure that each child has the tools to succeed * informs about the symptoms linked to the different forms and levels of dyslexia * explains the different teaching strategies and adaptive methods that can be used to help students at risk
Activities:- in-person conferences or virtual conferences
- virtual information and sharing sessions
- support to parents, in person, by phone or email
- training for parents
- keeps members updated via email
- produces lists of community resources
- represents parents and their children in different fields in education and early childhood education
