Service Description: Literacy and basic skills training, including reading, writing, numeracy, and computer skills * The program helps learners prepare for employment, apprenticeship, secondary-school credit, post-secondary education, and greater independence

Free one-on-one tutoring * Volunteer tutors meet with their learners once a week for two hours at a mutually convenient time and place such as a branch of the Ottawa Public Library * Volunteer tutors attend an orientation session and participate in training workshops several times a year * Learning materials and ongoing tutoring support provided

Eligibility / Target Population: Primarily serves adult learners wanting to improve their literacy and numeracy skills to achieve goals of further education and training, employment or increased independence * must have facility in English and literacy skills below Grade 12 of the Ontario Curriculum * must have CLB 6 in listening and speaking if an ESL learner
